Katherine Rhodes lives in Sheffield, mixing her time  between part-time work,  family and painting.
Some people may know her by her maiden name "Katherine Lines", which she continues to use, as her professional name for work in general dental practice.

The paintings and drawings are undertaken in a variety of media including watercolour, aquarelle pencils, acrylics, pastel, charcoal and pencil.
Much of the painting done is whenever time allows, and because of this many are done when on holiday.  Many of the landscapes are of places visited, or of objects or plants seen while on vacation.

The subjects usually have some connection with nature and organic forms.  They include landscapes, seascapes, still life paintings of flowers, plants, stones and pebbles.  The roundness of the pebbles and enjoyment of other natural forms is reflected in the curves and forms drawn in the studies of the human figure.

The figure studies are all completed from direct observation of the model.  Many of the landscapes and still life paintings are completed by direct observation of the subject in situ.  In other situations, photographs taken by the artist herself are the inspiration and basis for the painting produced.

I update the website at interavls, putting on any new paintings.  So do visit again at a later date, as there may be something new for you to see.

Enjoy the visit.
